Curiously, I involved myself with Wiccans years ago and found the whole experience rather spooky. The place I attended was basically full of freaks. Bones, alters, incense, swords, rituals and strange mumbo-jumbo, that made no sense to me whatsoever. As much as I tried to understand, I failed to see the logic in their belief system. Quite liked the weirdo status it gave me amongst friends though :o)
Then years later, I involved myself with JWs ....
Is there a pattern emerging?
since bleep has posted his poll reguarding god i decided to post a poll on what afterlife torture bleep should recieve from yours truly.. here are your choices:.
a. fire pit.
b. frozen tombs.
Forced to enter the mind of your average, low rank JW.
Entering the brain, physically speaking - ( and bound to the carrier signal that processes guilt feelings upon every given thought and action). Locked into the role of being carrier for an eternity and buffeted from nerve ending to nerve ending, experiencing the electro-chemical pinball game of obsessive guilt tripping. But consciously aware of the task in hand, from a human perspective.
Aside from that - forced to watch The Waltons maybe.

i'm not sure but was'nt there violence before 1914(ww1)?
you know since christ said in the last days, it will be rumors of wars, wars... do the watchtower mean 1914 a.d. or bc or whatever lol... i'm confused and to be honest i never did agree with that 1914 thing, cause first off "1914"(the year) is not found in any bible, and second in revelation chapter 4 verse 1 , (kjv) underlined = prophecys/in the future!..
therefore way before 1914(ww1) violence large scale had to take place before 1914, so in reality there is no date for the signs to start, just watch the signs that christ talked about and heed- luke 21 verse 36.... but i think i'm pretty sure that we are infact living in the last days, and like the father clearly said at revelation chapter 1 verse 3: " the time is at hand " / armageddon / vision of the son of god(christ the prophet, not god)edited by - legendary u.2.k.

It is very easy to have FAITH & PATIENCE when you are sitting in the comfort of your own home, typing at a PC wouldn't you say?
Try that argument with the starving masses in Africa at the moment. Or indeed, in the UK, with the two parents whose children have been snatched.
To my mind it can be narrowminded and insulting to cast around the FAITH & PATIENCE line. It is like a *brother* said to me a short while ago after losing his *fleshly brother* in a car accident - "oh well, there is always the resurrection" - charming and what timely advice in good taste.

If you really were a ** Bible Student ** - you would never ask those questions, without answers popping into your head automatically.
Reading your post took me back to when I used to knock on doors and think "dear, dear, how ignorant" at the curious statements of the householder, who had obviously not thought through what they were saying ;o)

True Christians shouldn't eat meat either ..... or at least they should raise and slay their own beasts and eat them. Aren't there outlines in the Bible about looking aftre livestock and treating it well? .... hardly a reflection on the current state of the dead flesh industry that people snack upon.
Hmm ... may have to write to the society about that :oP
So then, true Christians should be like Hippies, minus the acid trips (I think). Mind you, if you dropped some acid and stared out to the ocean, you could probably write your own version of Revelations.

I understand the JWs stand on the name from their own point of view but they do go - on and on - about it as being a cornerstone of the faith.
You are fortunate that you can reason this way, if I were to confront my friend (still a JW) with what you have said today, I know he would blank it completely.... shame really, because as you say, it is very hypocritical for the society to use a mans words to their greater benefit and then on the other hand, cast other parts of his work into the pit of darkness where only smeg and apostates lurk :o)
